My 5 current favourites ♥

Hello,

As I write this post the sun is shining and it is hot! Sunshine instantly makes me feel better and cheers everyone up. It is nice to have a bit of warmer weather for a change!

Anyway, as you can tell from the title, this post is about my current top 5 favourite things that I have been loving recently.

♥ Batiste Dry Shampoo: I love dry shampoo. As I have quite thick hair that is long (ish) it can be an absolute nightmare to manage as soon as the weather starts to get warmer (well all year round really but you know what I mean) I tend to wash my hair every 2-3 days depending on how it looks/feels. Some of you may be thinking, yuck! she should be washing her hair everyday but it is common knowledge that it is not good for your hair to wash it everyday. Anyway sometimes I will wake up in the morning and I think to myself I will need to wash my hair today, however, I don't always have time in the morning before I go to work as for me to wash my hair, blow dry it and style it so it looks semi-decent for the world to see it takes me a good hour. So recently after my morning shower I have found that I have been reaching for my Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Floral scent. This instantly refreshes my hair, gives it that boost it needs for the day and it smells gorgeous. I just pop a few sprays at my roots and rub it in. Job done. I have also found this is really good for if my hair is freshly washed or just lacking volume I can pop this in and it gives my hair a bit more grip and I can then go on to style it. I will definitely be repurchasing this and I will try out the different scents as they do loads! This is a summer staple for me and it is also super cheap! Even better. I got mine from Superdrug but I am sure you can pick them up from most drug stores and supermarkets.

♥ VO5 Smoothly Does It Heat Protect Serum: Another hair product I have been loving is this heat serum from VO5. It claims to protect your hair from heat (a must have girlies!!) fight frizz, another must have especially in the summer and leave your hair shiny. I love love love this product, it does everything it claims to do and I would not be without it. You pump a pea sized amount in to your palm and apply from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair. I use it after I have washed my hair when it is still wet but you can also use this on dry hair. As I suffer with damaged hair and split ends this product has been a life saver. Again it is not expensive and as you only need a small amount it lasts you a really long time. I love how it makes my hair feel and look. Also it leaves your hair smelling fresh. I also love the packaging of this. It is a thin tube and fits perfectly on my shelf. Again, I got mine from Superdrug but you can pick these up from most drug stores and supermarkets.

♥ Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume(100ml): This is my all time favourite perfume. Ever. I can never usually pick one favourite I always have a few options, but I can 100% say this is my number 1 perfume. As the name would suggest it is a light sweet floral scent. Not sickly sweet, but a nice sophisticated smell that lingers all day. I usually get used to the smell of my perfume and can no longer smell it later in the day but this scent stays put all day. I love perfume and wear it everyday but this bottle lasts me a long time as you don't need too much at any one time. Obviously it is up to you, if you are one of those people that sprays every inch of their body in perfume then it will go a lot quicker, but I like to spritz some of my wrists, neck and a general swoop of the body motion (not the best description in the world but I am sure you know what I mean) Also, the packaging is adorable. Marc Jacobs perfume bottles are always so pretty and cute and I absolutely love this design as daisies are one of my favourite flowers and it looks beautiful on my shelf. This is priced at £63.50 for 100ml so it is one of the more expensive perfumes on the market but as I said it lasts me such a long time and I am in love with it so I see it as a worthy investment and money well spent. I got mine from The Perfume Shop as I have a rewards card for there. You get 1 point for every £1 you spend and then you get £5 off when you get 100 points (I am a sucker for a rewards card I have them all, The Perfume Shop, Superdrug, Boots the list is endless)

♥ Yankee Candle "Black Cherry": I have a slight obsession with candles. I love them I own far too many and I am always on the look out for more. My favourite company where I get the majority of my candles from is Yankee Candle. They offer such a wide variety and they are good quality as well. They smell gorgeous when they are burning but the smell also lingers after you have blown them out. I love walking into my room during the day and still being able to smell it, I feel like it is a candle and an air freshener all in one. This one is a "Large Jar" and priced at £19.99 I think this is very reasonable. It is really long lasting and smells delicious. They do so many different shapes and sizes but my favourite is the large jar. I love the black cherry scent as it reminds me of summer and eating cherries...yummy! I got mine from a lovely Yankee Candle shop in Worthing but you can also order them online.

♥ Les Misérables: Yes I know the hype for this has been and gone but this has made it's way into my current favourites as I am going to see the stage production of Les Misérables for the second time on 27th May and I am so excited I was very lucky and received tickets for my birthday back in February. Obviously this is something that has been around for nearly 30 years but it wasn't until it came out in the cinema that I became very interested in it. I went to see the film 6 times (yep you read that right 6 times!) in the cinema as I loved it so much and I bought the DVD as soon as it came out as I was desperate for my Les Mis fix. Of course during the time between cinema and DVD release I had the album on repeat constantly! It is not to everyone's taste but I love it. The music, the production, the film, the story. Everything. I can not recommend it highly enough if you haven't already seen it.

Phew! I feel like I babbled on a bit hopefully you are still with me, if you are well done for getting to the end and I hope you enjoyed it.

Please let me know in the comments if you use or enjoy any products that I have mentioned or let me know your current 5 favourites as I would love to know them.

Carla ♥

  1. I hate feeling judged for not washing my hair everyday, we are the healthy ones haha! I also love Les Mis, the movie is awesome (mainly because Hugh Jackman) but nothing beats the stage performance, I'm so jealous of you going again. Thanks for the follow :)
